Promotion on a budget.

How to make yourself stand out from the crowd? The answer, of course, is to utilise any and all social media sites such as Facebook, twitter, Stumbleupon etc. But with so many people using them, just how effective are they?

It depends on how original you can make your “adverts”, this is the key to drawing people to your author page –

or blog.

It goes without saying that you must offer people something they want, without annoying or irritating them with constant repetition. Unfortunately, unless you have an enormous budget to spend on professional assistance, it can be difficult. But, as I said in my other post: Editing your book – hire a professional or DIY? it can be done; all it takes is a little creativity.

So, don’t be shy. If you don’t promote yourself, no one else will. Sit down with a pad and pencil and get your thinking cap on.

You can do it, you know you can.

  1. That is exactly what I am doing, thanks!

  2. Thanks Sophie 😀

  3. Yeap, it’s very VERY difficult. Despite ‘being an author’ being a minority job, in the circles we move in, everyone is a writer looking for their slice of success. It is an incredibly competitive forum and trying to stand out for the crowd is tricky.

Certainly as far as I’m concerned, you’ve achieved that already honey, so WELL DONE YOU!!! 😀

  4. Thanks hun, that’s good to know. 😀
