On the outside looking in.

Do you ever feel that the whole world is privy to a secret that you’re not? I’ve been having that feeling a lot lately. Paranoia? Probably, but I can’t help feeling I’m on the outside looking in.

Why? Because other people seem to be getting on with their lives, whilst I’m caught in hiatus, waiting for something momentous to happen and try as I might, I can’t seem to break free of the stasis of inertia.

Day after day I resolve to break out, to spread my wings and fly above it all. To push away the enemies of sloth and mediocrity and show my true colours. But what are they? What colours should I show? I try a shade for size, only to discard it for another. I flit from one to another, never settling, never choosing – never anchoring myself and ascertaining my life’s purpose. I suppose most people feel that way at one time or another and in that sense I’m not alone.

Well today I woke up with a sense of purpose – tentative and shy – but it’s there and I’m determined to hang on to it. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. A cliche, true,  but like all cliches it contains an element of truth.

  3. I just read this post on a different blog. Do you have more than one blog where you post the same stuff? It is a good post.

    • No, I don’t have more than one blog, some loser, who can’t think up their own posts, has probably copied and pasted it. Thanks for letting me know. Glad you liked it.
