My book fayre has been quite successful in that new “friends” have been made, books tagged and “liked” and some even bought.  It finishes this Friday 11th January 2013:

I consider it a good start, writing wise, to the New Year and I may very well make it an annual affair – time permitting. Watch out for further events on Facebook and maybe drop by. You never know, you may find something that takes your fancy.

What a great weekend!

Even though it’s almost over, I’ve had a great weekend. Three new chapters for my WIP, Through the Gloaming, and the great news that my completed novel, Land of Midnight Days, is due out in time for Christmas as a hardback book! Could it get any better?

So, those of you who saw my previous two posts, Fight the good fight and Can you fly? know it’s true to say never give up on your dreams. It pays to be persistent, to keep plugging away until you get what you want.

That’s not to say I wouldn’t have got this far without the encouragement and advice of friends like The Chesty Girls (+ 1 boy)’s writing group and members of the Alliance of Worldbuilders, such as Will MacMillan Jones, Sophie E Tallis, Lindsay Parsons, Ryan Holmes, not to mention Jane Dougherty and Tricia Drammeh.

There are many more, but unfortunately not enough space to mention each and every one. Thank you all for putting up with my crises of confidence and seeing me through both the good and bad times. And to all of you who read my blog and have kindly followed it, I very much appreciate your support.

Friends, lunch & pressies!

Had a wonderful afternoon today. Went to have lunch with my two very good friends, Cath Bore and Laila Murphy, fellow writers and best pals of mine. We dined at that fine hostelry, Allerton Hall, featured in my novel, Land of Midnight Days. It was to celebrate my birthday, which isn’t actually until the 20th of October, but due to busy schedules, etc, we decided to meet today.

Not only did the girls treat me to lunch, they also gave me some very, very nice gifts, which needless to say I was delighted with. So delighted, I briefly regressed to childhood, experiencing the joy I felt back then, filled with pleasure and a certain amount of glee.

Friends and family are gems to be treasured and savoured, like fine wine and precious jewels. To be rich, or at least financially independent, is what most of us desire, but money is nothing when compared to the wealth gained from companionship.

If you remember nothing else, please remember that.
